He is convinced that I put something special in the other bowl and checks it several times a day to make sure he still can't get in it. The big one didn’t care about the noise and ate right away. I can see a benefit in the future for different types of food for each dog. The main goal was restricting food amount (they were open feed). I am using this for 2 fat (and getting fatter) dogs: a 90 lb maremma sheepdog (should probably be 80 lb) and a 46 lb husky (should be 40 lb). Set up wasn't bad at all, especially if you like gadgets. These seem really well made and consistent. There are not many feeders offering this level of control! So happy this one is available and is meeting my needs. And the collar causes cancer supposedly in California. This is ridiculously high for what they’re asking for. I’m not even sure why it’s so expensive but I thought it would work for my situation where I have one cat on a very expensive diet for prescription and the other keeps eating her food. I can’t sit on top of the table so the dog can still get the food. My cat dragged around and ran around the house, completely spooked by it. The next really bad thing was the actual RFID collar was very heavy. I tried to call customer service, but they had the excuse of the pandemic, which made no customer service over the phone you had to send an email. I wanted to use this for the cat that didn’t need it so that it would stay closed when they came in, but it was very difficult to set up for the unassigned cat. First of all, I am quite tech savvy and it took me almost an hour and a half to try to get all the settings and get it to work. This is not against Chewy, but it’s against this company that made this machine. I wish I would have gotten the surflap feeder instead even though that one can't hold a large amount of food, but it does a much better job of keeping other cats out of the food. Over all it is not really worth the price. My cat got use to it but I have friends who had to return it because the tag bothered their cat so much. The tag the cat is also suppose to wear is very large around the neck. I have it in a spare room on the other side of the condo and you can hear it in the bedroom even with the door closed. The most annoying this though is that it is very very loud when it opens and closes. It also get jammed quite a lot if my cat doesn't eat enough of the food. My other cat is smart and will quickly push his head in and take a mouth full of food and walk away and he can keep doing that as long as the other cat is eating. Also it says it closes when another cat comes close but so far I have not seen that happen except once. Overall it works, but there is a very big lag when my one cat walks away from the machine allowing the other cat to eat the food. Ok, kinda works, loud, not worth the price
